Phil Wood, Founder, Owner, and Designer

Phil has been active in the Northwest horticultural community for many years as a garden designer and writer. He started the company in 1995.  His designs for gardens at the Northwest Flower and Garden show have received many gold medals. He currently serves on the board of the Seattle Chinese Garden.

Design education

Phil earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Cornish College of the Arts. He takes design inspiration from travels in Great Britain, France, Italy, China and Japan.

Plants

The Puget Sound climate rivals any in the world for horticultural wonder and diversity. From this great palette we choose plants to create a garden splashed with year around color and fragrance. So many plants, so little time!

Services

Initial design consultation:  We meet in your garden for an hour or two for a fee of $100. We will discuss ideas for your garden.

After the initial consultation meeting we prepare a design proposal, outlining the fees for creating plans for your new landscape. The fees depend on the size of the garden and the scope of the project and can include:

• Master plan—a design for the whole property that can be implemented in phases
• Construction plan—all the hardscape including walls, walkways, patios fences and arbors
• Planting plan—the type and location of the plants in your garden
